Self-Guided Tours: All Season
Visitors will be able to tour the site and buildings at their own pace through the aid of a self-guided tour pamphlet. Staff members and volunteers will be present to answer questions.
Formal programs and guided tours for groups of 10+ can be booked in advance.

Mirlo Descendants Bonfire Program: Tuesday, August 14th -- 7:30pm
Come meet the living descendants of the Life-Savers who rescued 42 British sailors aboard the Mirlo on August 16, 1918, and hear the incredible story of how it all happened.
American Heroes Day: Saturday, September 8th -- 10am-3pm
Wear your Red, White, & Blue and show your appreciation for American Heroes. Hero organizations and businesses of all kinds will be represented. Flyovers, demonstrations, rescue equipment, military organizations, and more will be available.
End of Season Festivities: Friday, November 23rd, 12 noon to 5pm
Special guests, costumed interpreters, gift shop sales, programs, and many more surprises will be on hand for the last event of the season.

Tuesday:
2PM - Hatteras Island History. Renowned Hatteras Island historian Danny Couch presents a brief, entertaining overview of this fabled and mystical island.
7:30 PM - Beach Bonfire Program. Bring a blanket and flashlight and settle in on the beach to hear a brief history of the Life-Saving Service and the site, culminating with details of the true, daring, and heroic rescues by these brave "storm warriors," especially the dramatic Mirlo rescue story.
Wednesday:
2:00 PM "Miz Amelia". Join a 'real character' from Days Gone By for a whimsical insight into life on the Outer Banks when these Life-Saving Stations were young. The spunky Miz Amelia will entertain and inform you with a one-of-a-kind experience. She pulls no punches in this audience participation performance you don't want to miss.
Thursday:
2:00 PM - Beach Apparatus Drill Reenactment. Today's U.S. Coast Guard performs the historic rescue method commonly called "the Breeches Buoy Rescue." Best daytime show on the Outer Banks!
